Delta Spirit’s Matthew Logan Vasquez Embarks on Solo Venture

Delta Spirit have been a staple of indie Americana-rooted rock music for over ten years, releasing two EPs and four full-length albums, including 2014’s Into The Wide. In 2015, the group announced they would be taking a break for the foreseeable future. The band set fans at ease, stating that it would not be more of individual hiatuses and not a definite breakup, giving members time to spend with families and side projects.

The group’s frontman, Matt Vasquez has already been busy since the band announced the hiatus, releasing a solo EP last November, and just releasing a new full length LP, Solicitor Returns last week. The fan reaction to the new LP is already booming, selling out his DIY pre-sale quickly, leaving physical copies of the album only available at a handful of record stores and at merch stands while Vasquez tours.

Speaking of tour, Vasquez will be leaving the family in Texas (including his beautiful new baby boy, Thor and wife Marthe) to embark on his Back in the Van for the Baby, Baby Tour in late March. The tour will be prefaced by some SXSW dates in his hometown of Austin, and then carry over from late March to early May, with stops in California, Minnesota, Chicago and Milwaukee (thank the heavens – April 22nd at The Back Room).

Above, you can hear his latest single, “Personal”. Check out the full tour dates below, as well as a stream for Solicitor Returns, via Apple Music.
