Kendrick Lamar Pays Homage to Compton in Video for “King Kunta”

Kendrick Lamar plays by his own rules. K-dot has premiered his latest  video, for the socially empowering track “King Kunta” from his recently released album, To Pimp A Butterfly.

The video for “King Kunta,” directed by Director X, features Lamar performing in his hometown of Compton, and was filmed during The Compton Swap Meet. Lamar premiered the video on billboards in New York and Los Angeles earlier in the day, and multiple feeds were started showing clips from the video projections.
