The Tallest Man on Earth Makes Daytime TV Debut w/ Full Band on CBS This Morning

The Tallest Man On Earth made his network daytime TV-debut this Saturday, performing for CBS This Morning’s Saturday Sessions, a series of performances that take place every weekend on the morning talk show, typically showcasing artists that cater to a more “indie” taste.

Kristian Matsson (known by his ironic stage name The Tallest Man On Earth) has been touring relentlessly in support of his stellar new album, Dark Bird Is Home, released in May of this year, with the initial tour recently wrapping up with sold-out shows in New York and Washington D.C. The album boasts a much fuller sound, and Matsson is joined on tour by a full band for the first time in his career. But Matsson’s vocal delicacy and cunning lyrics are still ever-present on the new album, one of TTMOE’s strongest to date.

By the video above, and to those lucky enough to see Matsson and his new touring band in person, it’s clear that this new venture by The Tallest Man On Earth was well-timed and equally as well-planned. The above video of the band’s performance of “Sagres” is clear demonstration that this is just the beginning of what is sure to be a beautiful new chapter in the singer-songwriter’s already stellar career. Check out videos of the other two songs performed for the Saturday Sessions, “Fields of Our Home” (below) and 2010’s “Like The Wheel” (available here) as well as tour dates for the full band tour, which will resume in the U.S. in July.
